The Wolds Gliding Club is the premier gliding site in the north of England.The friendliness and camaraderie is immediately apparent right from day one. You are welcomed into the fold and someone is usually assigned to look after you and show you around.
Weekend flying brings the old faithful "Tea Bus" which is an old converted double decker bus, serving hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks. A welcome facility I can tell you.
The tea bus is usually driven out to the launch point of the particular runway in use on that given day.
Remember that trial flights gift vouchers are a great introduction to gliding, but will be more expensive than flying as a member.

The `Pheonix` a converted Shorts 330 fusealge used as a launch control room. It also has a briefing room and facilities for visitors. The Pheonix is towed out to the launch point at the start of the days flying.
